I am Hooria Rajabzadeh, a contemporary photo-based artist of the Iranian diaspora, whose practice primarily focuses on exploring notions of gender and gender imbalances through the intersection of cultural and racial perspectives. My work frequently reflects on my own experiences as well as other women, offering insight into their lived realities. I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in fine art from the University of Tehran, Iran. And a second Master’s degree in Visual Arts at the University of Regina, SK.
During my time in Regina, I have immersed myself in the art and academic communities. I have had the opportunity to work as a University Instructor at the University of Regina, conduct workshops in collaboration with Neutral Ground Gallery and YWCA Regina, and write exhibition texts for local galleries. Currently, I am working as a Curatorial Assistant at the Moose Jaw Museum and Art Gallery and volunteering as a Board Member at the Art Gallery of Regina.
