Women’s wagon is considered as one of the exclusive public places for women although it has windows and it is visible to men from outside. Therefore from the visual aspect, it does not provide privacy. It is, however, a place that women can be seen side by side which makes it possible to study and compare their features such as differences in hijab, body postures and their look and reaction to the camera.

It is hard to take photos of Iranian women due to the cultural barriers, especially in such closeup shots. So, I turned my lens to the window glasses to depict their reflection. It might, therefore, be inferred that their reflections is one step further from reality, tend to be colourless, and sometimes defective.

But, perhaps correspondingly, these photographs get us one step closer to the truth; the truth of women in my homeland.
